Elves: The Elves are the second people of Yrneh. They are former Ogariths who one day decided to tread the earth and move on foot or with the help of animals. As a result, their wings became completely useless. Their other distinctive feature, namely their hair, lies in the fact that Elves wear long, silky hair since they are no longer exposed to the winds in the skies and on the mountain peaks. Their rightful sovereign is Enöguera.
POLITICAL STRUCTURE:
Only one family among the Elves provides the High King. It is an honorary title essentially granted in times of war when all the Elves are gathered together.
This title has been borne by Enoguëra since the Second Cycle and will remain so until the Elves leave Yrneh.
The forests are the domains of the Elves where, in each one, there is a king, also called Basileus, except in the forest of (...) which is ruled by a council of Elven women alternating with a council of men every century.
Tradition upholds universal male or female primogeniture: the eldest is directly associated with the aulic title of his or her family and kingdom.
Each kingship is independent of the others and comes from the oldest Elven families.
Enoguëra is, for example, both the king of the forest of Sertrach and the High King of the Elves because he possesses the greatest spiritual, tactical and strategic authority.
No kingdom is subdivided into tribes in order to preserve the integrity of the Elven body.
Around each king there are two philoï, two advisers and bodyguards (often close friends whom the ruler has known forever).
The royal family structure is total (known as nutritii uni): around the king, the whole family is integrated into his household.
Royal power is symbolized by a crown of gold and platinum, while the heir possesses a signet ring.
In the Elven world, each house possesses an animal or plant emblem symbolized either on the king's crown, helmet and breastplate, but also on everyone's shoulders and cloaks.
Each Elven kingship is characterized by a protective stone (diamond, ruby, emerald, sapphire, topaz...)
LANGUAGE:
Elvish, which is a derivative of Ogarudh.
CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS:
Marriage: Marriage among the Elves lasts 2 days. The first day is « the advent » during which the community erects decorations, an altar and other structures necessary for the smooth running of the celebration.
The wedding day is highly codified since each of the future spouses remains in his or her own house where a ritual purification bath is taken.
They dress in white garments and make themselves impeccably clean.
Once ready, they leave their respective homes and advance toward the altar while crossing the community.
Once the sun reaches its zenith, the 2 spouses stand before the altar. There the groom recites a traditional poem.
Their union is then symbolized by tying a ribbon around their two joined hands.
Birth: Births are rare among the Elves just as they are among the Ogariths.
Once the birth has taken place, certain Elves close to the family bring all kinds of gifts. The birth is announced publicly and the community kneels to salute this miracle of life.
The birth flower is the white rose.
Death: Death is rare for the Elves because they descend from the Ogariths and are therefore immortal. They can only die in combat or from infinite sorrow.
The Elf who dies is carried by his or her kin onto a pyre made of wood, oils and myrrh. The body is consumed and its ashes are scattered to the wind.
The flower of death among this people is the white tulip.
